Jamie Bell has revealed Fantastic Four sequels are "wide open" in terms of plot.

The 29-year-old English actor portrays Ben Grimm/The Thing in the forthcoming Marvel picture, which centres on four people who develop superpowers after being transported to an alternate universe.

Fantastic Four will have a sequel if the initial film is successful, but the final cut of the movie does not allude to what may happen in the follow-up.

"No we don't, there's no post-credits sequence," Jamie explained to MTV News at Comic-Con International about why the post-credits clip was intentionally left out.

"It does leave the door wide open for a lot of different movies. I think this movie really focuses on the origins of each character individually, how they get their powers, how they learn to deal with them, how they learn to harness them, how they figure out that they're all stronger as four than they are as individuals, and kind of that's where the movie ends. There's so much more to go from, there. It leaves the door open."

Kate Mara will star as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman in Fantastic Four, with Michael B. Jordan portraying Johnny Storm/The Human Torch and Miles Teller depicting Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.

And during a Comic-Con panel on Saturday, Just Jared reports the cast gushed over how amazing it was to shoot the picture.

"It's like living out a childhood dream, being a huge comic book fan and playing such an iconic character," Michael noted, with Miles adding, "I kind of joked around a couple years ago saying I'll do a superhero movie at some point and then Spider-Man came and went and I thought that was it. It's cool, man. It's not just people blowing things up."
