The former Desperate Housewives star became engaged to the Mexican businessman on 13 December (15) during a romantic break in Dubai, but Eva insists it's too soon to think about her third big day, despite reports suggesting she is already making plans.
"We haven’t even discussed it," she told The Today Show on Monday (04Jan16). "I’m still in the glow of the engagement. I’m still applauding him for how beautiful and amazing it was, then we’ll talk about the big fat Mexican wedding.”
The 40-year-old began dating José in late 2013 after meeting him through a mutual friend, and she confessed her beau left her stunned when he got down on bended knee and asked her to be his wife.
"It was such a surprise," she smiled "It was in Dubai, in the desert."
This will be the third time Eva has tied the knot, having previously been married to Tyler Christopher and basketball player Tony Parker, and the actress recently revealed romance certainly wasn't on her mind when she first met José.
"I was getting out of a bad relationship, and he was getting out of a relationship, so there wasn't a connection," Eva admitted to People magazine. "We had a pleasant conversation, but there was no real connection."
It seems their mutual friend, who set the couple up, wouldn't let the matter rest, however, and six months later they were back together.
"I had no memory of meeting him the first time, but we had immediate sparks," Eva added with a laugh. "It was like the cliché angels singing and there was a glow around him and it was immediate chemistry.
"He was the most handsome man I'd ever seen. He was so charismatic, charming, sweet and funny. I thought, 'Who is this guy?'"
Reports suggest Eva's close friend Victoria Beckham will help her plan the wedding, as well as design the bride-to-be's gown.
