Celebs Who Married People Twice Their Age

 

Age is just a number, as evidenced by those celebrity couples with very big age differences. Lots of celebs have married partners twice their age. The results are…mixed. Sometimes the May-December romances work for a years or until one of the partners dies; other times, they don’t even last as long as, well, May through December.

 

Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchison

She was 16, blonder (and with bigger boobs) than Barbie, and seeking fame. He was 50 and a D-list actor, at best, thanks to roles in Lost and The X-Files. They got married. Her boobs got bigger. They split. They reunited. All facets of their life were covered heavily by Us Weekly and other tabs. It seemed like the publicity surrounding their age difference was also a ploy to help bolster her fame. The relationship certainly generated quite a bit of press, for good or for ill.

 Anna-Nicole Smith and J. Howard Marshall

Both Smith and Marshall are deceased now, but the voluptuous model Anna-Nicole Smith was 27 when she grabbed major international headlines for wedding millionaire J. Howard Marshall. He was 62 (!!!) years older than she was when they swapped vows.

Mia Farrow and Frank Sinatra

The Rosemary’s Baby actress was just 21 when she wed Ol’ Blue Eyes, who was 50. The union was reportedly tumultuous and only lasted two years. Perhaps they didn’t have anything in common due to the age gap? According to The Daily Mail, Sinatra’s Rat Pack pal Dean Martin said he owned a bottle of scotch older than the crooner’s wife. That had to be some quality scotch.

 

Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart

The actress was 20 when she fell in love with the actor, who was 45. They had a half-century of age difference, but their love endured until his death in 1957. The marriage was short-lived due to his passing. However, Hollywood has always looked back at Bogie and Bacall as an unforgettable couple.

Melania Knauss and Donald Trump

The Donald’s third wife is 24 years younger than him. Still, they’ve had children and have remained happily wed for years. The marriage seems to be working out for them. If that walking, talking hairpiece does manage to nab the White House in 2016, we have to admit that Knauss would be a super-hot FLOTUS.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas

These two share a birthday—September 25—but she was born 25 years after him. The actors have two children and have had some ups and downs, but they are still wed as of this writing. In fact, Douglas told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview that they are stronger than ever after the separation.

 

Sam and Aaron Taylor-Johnson

Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor married Aaron Johnson the hunky Kick-Ass actor and they went on to have two daughters. Taylor has 23 years on her younger husband, so there is a chasm of age difference between them. Despite that, they seem happy. He even took her last name and hyphenated it with his. Swoon!

Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford

The Ally McBeal actress is 22 years younger than the legendary Star Wars actor, who has played some seriously iconic roles in his career. But perhaps Ford’s best role has been husband and father to Flockhart’s son, who she adopted before they wed. She also told PEOPLE that the long-held myth that she spilled wine on him in order to start a conversation when they first met wasn’t true; they were already deep in conversation and it was he who spilled the wine. So romantic!

The actor’s current wife, a yoga instructor, is 26 years younger than him. Sometimes the whole May-December thing just works. They have two children together—a daughter and their son, the latter of which arrived in the summer of 2015, according to PEOPLE—and seem to be enjoying their marriage, their life, and their family.

Celine Dion and Rene Angelil

Dion married her manager, who is 26 years older than she is. They have been happy for years, with several children. Their loves hasn’t dulled or dimmed, as the French-Canadian belter even put her Las Vegas residency on pause in 2015 in order to nurse him during his cancer battle. She has since resumed her Sin City residency, according to ABC News.

Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner

After the hoopla of The Girls Next Door, Hef settled down and married Playmate Crystal Harris, who is 60 years younger. He and Harris split in 2011, but wed in 2013, as reported by The Daily Mail. Hef puts men half his age to shame. But then again, that’s kind of his thing. He used to date multiple blonde twentysomethings at the same time. He has since cooled his jets. Slightly.
